RÉALISATION
Environmental Groundwater Quality Monitoring on almost 300 wells
Client:
150 000 $
Objective:
To determine the environmental quality of groundwater over a large area.
Scope of work:
The objective of this project was to conduct a groundwater sampling campaign on a large property with 296 observation wells. The following parameters were analyzed: volatile organic compounds (VOCs), metals (29), polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), dioxins and furans, energetic materials, C10-C50 petroleum hydrocarbons,perchlorates,bi-phenyls (PCBs), uranium, isotope ratio (238U/235U) and sulfide anions.
Physico-chemical data was also measured using a multi-parameter Horiba U22 MA-530511-2 A probe cell with Flow-370373. The measured data included temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen and redox potential.
The challenges associated with this project involved a fast work pace needed to meet project deadlines as well as the effective management of large volumes of collected data and samples sent to different laboratories.
Three field teams worked together simultaneously for the duration of the project. Strict quality control was also followed throughout the project.
